Smarter Surveys with Question Branching

We’re excited to announce that question branching logic is now available in People Element surveys! With branching, survey admins can set up if/then logic that customizes the participant’s path based on their answers. This creates a more dynamic and relevant survey experience by showing only the questions that matter most.

Question 2

Admins can route participants to specific questions or categories, jump, or hide questions, and even end a survey early when conditions are met. Read more about setting up your surveys with question branching here.

The Impact of Addressing Career Development Early

Career development is a priority for employees, yet many organizations wait too long to address it. By the time development conversations happen, you may have already missed a critical opportunity. Focusing on development early in an employee’s tenure can lead to stronger engagement, clearer alignment, and long-term success.

Build Engagement & Retention

When employees see clear opportunities for growth and development they are more likely to stay engaged and remain with an organization long-term.

Align Expectations Early

Addressing growth and development early helps employees understand what progression looks like within your organization. This can help avoid misalignment between an employee’s goals and what the company can provide.

Encourage Skill Development

If an employee has a clear path, they can focus on building the right skills and experiences for career progression. Furthermore, leaders can better tailor development opportunities when they understand their employee’s goals.

Promote a Culture of Growth

Normalizing development conversations early encourages a growth mindset across the organization and helps identify potential future leaders, giving the organization more time to develop talent.

Don’t wait to address career development. Build it into your onboarding, early check-ins, and overall culture from the start. The sooner you start the more opportunity you’ll have to create meaningful impact.

What’s one of your favorite Halloween memories from childhood?

I once dressed as a scary old woman for Halloween as sort of a cheap last-minute costume. However, I was such a convincing old woman that nobody gave me candy. Most people just assumed I was walking my grandchildren to the door.

What do you do outside of work?

I’m originally from Texas and try visit friends and family back home as much as possible. However, as I live in Denver now, I enjoy hiking and can be found on trails that some might describe as “easy” or “moderate”. I’m also a movie fan and will take any excuse to go to a theatre and eat a $15 bag of popcorn.

What is your key driver in doing what you do?

It’s important to me that my work has a positive impact on others. While working for People Element I’ve been able to play a part in having a positive impact on entire organizations. Whether it’s helping to reduce turnover, improve engagement or just giving employees a voice, I can see what we do makes a difference.
